MEXICO

Mexico is in South America and has 122.3 million people.

Mexicos favourite food is Enchiladas. It is made with a corn tortilla rolled around a filling and covered with a chilli pepper sauce.

Two of Mexico’s animals are the Manatee and the Jaguar.

The Manatee has brownish-gray skin and a large body. They are also known as sea cows because they only eat vegetables.

Jaguars are big cats and it has four sharp teeth. Jaguars are the third largest cats . Jaguars are only found in America. Jaguars like water and are good swimmers. Some Jaguars have black spots and some are all black.

Athletics Day

ATHLETICS

On Wednesday 23rd of November 2016 our school did athletics. In athletics we had discus, shot put, high Jump, hundred metre sprint, and relays. My favourite one is high jump because when you make it over the bar you get another turn and the bar gets higher and higher. But when you don’t make it over the bar you just have to watch other people do the high jump.

Hundred metre sprint you have to run hundred metres and back you don’t jog you run because sprint means run.
Next one is relays. In relays you need to have two rows of four people. In each row you need four tubes. The first row has to run to the second row and the second row has to run  to the end and back to the first row so they can go back then choose first, second and third.

In discus you have to get a discus and have to move your arms across three times in the third one you release the discus and then measure the distance where the discus landed.

After that is shot put. In shot put you have to grab a heavy shot put. If you're left handed you face the left side, if you're right handed you face the right side. You bend your knees and turn four times when you throw you use all the power then throw. I don’t like shot put because it’s very hard to throw.

Egypt

Egypt

Egypt is a country and Africa is a continent. Egypt is famous for its pyramids, mummies and the ancient kings. It is in the Mediterranean sea.

Pyramids are 139 meters long and the Sphinx of Giza is twenty meters long. Egyptians built the pyramids as tombs, and there are about eighteen today in ancient Egypt. Most of the ancient pyramids were made from tombs for Pharaohs, the ancient Egypt ruler.

Egyptian children come fast and the population is rapidly going higher. About 80 to 90 percent of egyptians are Muslims. Egypt is home to a wide variety of animals and also plants, including cheetahs, hyenas, crocodiles and cabras. The best places to see Egypt's wildlife are in its 21 protected regions.

The colours of the Egyptian flag are red, white and black with a golden eagle in the white strip. The Egypt colours stand for revolution, future and the black revolutions.

The most popular dance in Egypt is the belley dance, and there is a dance for men called the stick dance.

Athletics Day

Athletics Day

Today at 9:15 the whole school did athletics.

The first one room 9 did was shot put. We had to go in two lines, boys and girls so it can be equal groups.

Moving on to the next activity,we went to throwing discus. Again we had to go in two lines boys and girls. I came first out out of the girls and out of the boys LJ and Kue’a came first.

How to throw a discus
So you hold a discus bend your knees and with your left hand you move forwards and backwards, and with your right hand you put it straight. You count up to four and on that fourth count you throw it.

The next activity was 100 metre sprint with Mrs Stone who is in room 7 with Mrs Tofa’s class. We had to sprint to her and sprint back. It was tiring because we had to go two times.

After that we had to go to Miss Kay to do relays. We had to go in partners so when we face each other the opposite way out partner can run to us and we can run all the way to the big tree. We had to do practise and then for real. It was fun, exhausting and kind of boring.

The last activity was high jump.  When I looked far away it looked really high but when room 9 came closer it was really low. The girls had to go first and we were backing away and scared. So a teacher told Ngakiri to come and she went. Some of them touched the bar and some of the girls didn’t. It was really really fun and not exhausting, I had to say high jump was my favourite because we had a little play around and room 9 got to laugh and smile.

Place value game!

We learnt a fun game to learn place value! If you get a tick that means you got the right number in the right column. If you get a dash then it's the right number but in the wrong column. If you get a cross then that number isn't in my number!

The wolf

Once upon a time there was a baby wolf named Adam
He grew bigger and stronger. When Adam was walking around minding his own business he saw a teenager named Philip camping.

Philip is 10 years old, he is from the Phillipines. Adam is a wolf and he is from the Philippines too and Adam is 16 years old. It took place in the Snowy Forest.

Adam was going to hunt Philip, but he wanted to be one of the good guys so Adam changed his mind so he became Philip’s pet. The problem was that the hunters was going to hunt Adam then eat him, so Philip called the police and the police commanded “What’s the problem sir?” and Philip commanded “The hunters are going to hunt my pet” and the police shouted “We are on our way.”

The solution is that the police took the hunters to jail and Adam commanded “Thank you for saving my life.” Philip commanded “No problem” and they lived happily ever after.

Light

How rainbows are made?
A rainbow is made from the sunlight and water droplets. A rainbow can be seen when the sun is out and it is raining or misty.

Light is sun and electricity light comes from the sun and it helps people see things.

When the rain droplets go down and the sun shines through the droplets it will into the seven colours of the rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

When the sunlight shines through the water and makes the light bend and makes it slower that is called refraction.

Rainbows

A rainbow is made from the sun and water. A rainbow can be seen in the sky.

Light comes from the sun and helps us to see. It helps us to see colours .

Light shines down through the water drops. When the sun goes through the water drops the light will bend in the water drop and will make a rainbow. The rainbow colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Video Games

Games should be banned for kids under 18 years old.

I think video games should be banned from kids under 18 years old.
Games are bad for your brain because some games have rude stuff and swearing in it.
They are a bad influence on kids.

Video games can also can give you nightmares.
Parent should control what  games they buy. It distracts you from your homework and it doesn’t help you with your learning. It makes you dumb.

I think  video games should be banned for kids under
18 years old because some games are rated 18 and

Scooby Doo.

My favourite TV show is Scooby Doo because it has lots of characters with expression.

The main characters are Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne.

The program was made in America and started in 1969. It has been going so long that some of the people who did the voices have now died.

Scooby, Fred, Shaggy, Velma, and Daphne solve mysteries by finding clues.

Scooby doo is popular to the people that like it and that’s why it's’ been going so long.

ZOMBIE HUNT

 Zombie hunt

Once upon a time there were 106 soldiers. They lived in a palace and they had a very, very smart scientist.
The scientist made a formula that can infect people with a deadly virus.

He hid it because it was to dangerous. Then one of the soldiers named Alex found it and he took it to his friend tom. He accidentally dropped the virus and cut his arm allowing the virus to infect him.  He slowly turned into a zombie! Everybody ran and the zombie infested 52  soldiers. There were 54 soldiers left.

Soon the whole world was infected, except for some people that survived the infection. They worked really hard to find a cure, but sadly they couldn’t.

There names were Rectofin,  Bruce , Quin , Ronnie, Takio and Mike. One day they found a cure for zombies. All they had to do is test it on a real zombie. That is when they all disagreed. But they knew if they didn't do this they would be stuck with zombies forever and they did not want that to happen, so they had no choice.

So they went to find one zombie but every time they saw one zombie there was a whole group of them! So it was pretty hard for them to get a zombie. Then when they were in the jungle they got ambushed by zombies. Turns out they weren't normal zombies. They could talk and they collect other people to eat. It was night and Rectofin and Takio were waiting for Ronnie, Bruce, Quin, and Mike. They were getting worried so they grabbed their gear and went to  find them. They put the tracking device on to see where they had gone. When they have reached the  end of the track, they opened the door to the dam. They searched it and found the zombies with his friends. They went in and shot all the zombies. They tried not to kill one zombie because they needed one to test their cure. So they killed the zombies but all the others herd. They tried to escape the dam with one zombie. They knocked one out and escaped the building.

They tested the cure and it worked! They sent it around the world. Once all the zombie’s turned back to human again they rebuilded and never made a zombie virus again.
